outlander 08 a/C not working properly

outlander 08 a/C not working properly
When i start the car for the first time of the day the a/c work for 30 to 45 min cold air. then the system do not work anymore.The temp of the engine is normal. After the engine cool off for approx 2 hours it comes back and work fine.
any ideas why?
