Over Heat
Ok our 2nd car 1994 Acura Legend. Overheats sometimes. Get this when I bleed the raditor and refill its fine for about a month. water pump is ok as well as thermostat. WTF? Also dual fans come on when they feel like it I believe the fans are on some relay and come on when needed I have just let car idle for 10-15 min and fan will not come on but, when I turn car off the fans kicks in.
I know and Acura is the cousin to the Honda but, its my wifes car of course I have a Mitsub

RE: Over Heat
as far as the fans coming on AFTER the car is shut off is because of heat soak. the coolant dont flow when the engine is not running, so the water in the block gets hotter for a few minutes after the engine is shut off. the coolant temp sensor will see this and try to correct the problem by kicking on the fans. your other question Im clueless on.

RE: Over Heat
That was a thought I had myself. No smoke from the exhaust pipe at all. I am going to take it to the shop this weekend. I beginning to hate this Acura the insurance cost more than my 2004 Eclipse anyway.
I made my wife park it because I don't want to risk messing up the head if it runs hot and she tries to drive it. I hate sharing cars [:@]
Also I know a few weeks ago the radiator hose burst (more like exploded) the force was so strong that it tore a hole in the headliner under the hood. I changed that and put new clamps. I have never heard of a hose exploding before. Do you think that could be part of the problem!

RE: Over Heat
i think the hose would be from overheating, because of all the pressure building up in there, did you have a good 50/50 mixture because to much water would vaporize to cause that kinda thing to happen

RE: Over Heat
I feel like a dumb ***. Took the Acura to the shop. the Raditor cap was stripped. Put a new cap on and now the car seems to be running fine. Half of me hopes it is that simple the other half makes me feel like a total *** for not seeing it myself.
