Default Fuso speedo

Can anyone help? I drive a Fuso bus; its speedo has been playing up for a year or more and steadily getting worse. It intermittently drops to zero and stays there for anywhere from a few seconds to an hour or more. This can occur in dry weather, wet weather, winds and calm days. We've spent over $2000 on automotive electricians who can't find the problem. They did install a new dash unit but that made no difference.

The only clue I can provide is that often when the speedo is reading zero an orange dash light often comes on. It's in Japanese and I attach a picture of it. The English translation for this that I obtained is "finger control". This is by a non-mechanic so it is a literal translation.

I would appreciate advice that I can forward to our automitive electrician.

Thanks in advance.

man all i see is symbols, haha. If i had to guess an orange light i think is probably the check engine light. So your saying while your moving the car will say your still going zero. The only thing i can think of is a bad speed sensor.

I would say start at the transmission and work up to the parts you have already replaced in the dash. Is there any computer that can be hooked up to tell you what codes are being thrown and causing the orange light?
