Sang- Older MAs have been prone to self-destructing. Nubain has another thread explaining that his amp had gone into protect and he didnt know why. The VCs in the older MAs dont last all that long so it isnt a surprise at all to hear that this one went.
Nubian- You DO mean MA audio by MA... correct? You dont happen to mean Memphis Audio do you? I ask this because some people refer to them as MA...

 

To be honest I don't know I may have a pic somewhere have to look. It just had a big MA in the middle of the sub, When I took it out it had this huge magnet and 4 prongs instead of the normal 2

 

Thats a DVC (Dual Voice Coil) sub... you could have tried using the opposite two posts, if your 1 VC is blown, try using the other. (But yes, Nubian, that IS an MA audio sub.)
