Default Boost Controller Help!!!

I was wondering what kind of boost controller should I get for my car. I was thinking about the Greddy Profec II but then again I want to go cheap. So now I'm debating about whether I should get a manual boost controller or the electronic. The manual is way inexpensive which seems best for my budget right now. The only thing is if I get a manual boost controller, is it easy to install and is there any advice to it. Right now my car is boosting 6psi which is way low for a 3000GT VR-4. I don't know how the previous owner under boost it but somehow he did. I did a compression and boost leak test and everything turn out find. Is there a manual boost controller hidden somewhere that I can't seem to find?
