I don't think it should change and go that high. Sounds more and more like it's restricted and not moving around the system. Bleeding the high side sometimes will free up a blockage but if it doesn't work you're out the $40 worth of freon. If you do it have a rag handy as there is lubricant in the freon and don't use your finger to push the pin down unless you like minor frostbite

That seems a bit high but I its really hard to diag just by seeing the low side. I could get a better idea if you could get a high side reading.

the low side pressure at idle should be around 28-30 psi. high side should be anywhere from 175-225psi depending on the air temp outside. when you rev it up sounds like the pressures are either going way high or way low, the pressure switch in the a/c system will cut off the compressor if the system has higher or lower pressures than factory specs. did you overcharge the system when u installed the new compressor?? is there a leak and mabey the system is low?? i would start there. good luck. greg....
