Default Does a dead battery cause computer problems?

I have a 2015 lancer.
Wondering if by letting the battery go dead, will this cause problems with the computer? A dealer told me I would have to take it to them to have it re-programmed if the battery goes dead, like say over winter in storage..??

A low battery can & dead one will just temporary. Once jumped or charged it should run ok, might stumble abit but should return to normal. I remember in the 90s a few models got disabled for this but that may have had factory security system too. To avoid the chance I would get the car running then hot swap a new battery in.This way the car will have no break in voltage to the ECU.
