01 montero battery drain

01 montero battery drain
battery drains over night. checked voltage under load alt is good .grounds are clean- connections all good.
if i disconect the positive from back of alt voltage drain stops.(engine off)
could it still be bad alt even if it charges fine?
will check bolts for cracks tonight!
