95 Montero LS changed Timing belt, now wont run?
I thought all was well after I just changed my timing belt, cause it started up and was running good, but after she warmed up it just won't idle and dies. unless i hold the gas pedal?
Any ideas? Do I have to set the timing or anything after changing the timing belt?
Also, truk ran fine before the belt change...

Would it cause that? I swear by all means I made positive that the cams were aligned exactly on their mark, and so was the crank.. I even rotated by hand the crank a couple times and they still fell back into the aligned positions??

try to reset your computer, unhook your batt. ( positive first, then neg.)then hook it back up (pos. then neg) sometimes pcu' needs time to recognize parts / new parts. same thing happened to me before, i, installed new pressure reg. ( fuel ) and engine management system ( piggy fuel) when i, started the engine, it last for a minute then it stalled. so confuse, i, re-program the pcu. then i, start it again...engine stall twice, but manage to keep up on the third time.

let it run for about 5-8 minutes, let it warm up.....u' might notice the engine is about to stall, then comes back again....thats normal, (computer is recognizing / re-setting ) if everything fails, then advance your timing to 2-3 clicks.

What you said advance timing 2 clicks? How do you do this?? Where is timing adjustment?

you did good, its the computer system recognizing new part / parts. all mitsubishi's are like that, just remember, everytime you disconnect that battery for long period, you will experience engine stall right after you connect the battery. timing advance is kinda hard to explain, you will learn it soon. anyway, thats another mitsubishi motor experience....good to go.
