can i just disconnect my horn wire,?/

I know this is an old thread but just want to thank the author. I've had this problem for years with my 2003 Montero XLS and just couldn't justify the $1200 bill to fix a horn. I have the exact same symptoms and had just removed the fuse until I can find a better solution. Guess what? I just did!
