Default Rear Differential help

Hey guys,

I blew my diff on my 2000 Montero Sport 3.0L LS. It has the 4.90 gear ratio. I've been searching for a replacement differential for the past month or two and haven't been able to find an exact match. Are these rears interchangeable? I called the dealer and gave my VIN and the donor VIN and I can not find matching part numbers. I'd like to find an exact match, but am I wasting my time?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Have you already checked all of your local pick-and-pull yards
Are you only interested in installing used parts?

If you're considering new, check this site out:

I've tried most of my local yards and haven't been able to find an exact match. would any 4.90 non-locking swap right in? or do these vary in size depending on wheel size, etc.?
