I get up to date maps with Google.
I get hundreds of streaming internet audio stations
I have my iPod
(No, I don't watch video in the car, but I could)
etc, etc... you can imagine all the other apps.

On another note, the rear entertainment system is pointless too. Frankly, I rarely let the kids watch it because it blocks my view out the back of the car. Either headrest DVD is the way to go, or frankly, for the price of the MMCS and rear DVD, I could buy everyone in the car their own iPad.

I hope my next vehicle just simply has an awesome amplifier, volume controls and an Aux input.

:-)
Would you consider selling your MMCS unit or swapping it with 6 disc MP3 one?

GPS, internet radio and other fancy features of the ipad become useless once the notoriously reliable at&t (or any other provider) service drops in the middle of your driving. also, i can't see it being very convenient or attractive having the ipad attached to the dash (sticky velcro?). plus, with the price of an amp, a 32GB ipad and a 2 year 3G contract you'll be approaching even the ridiculously overpriced MMCS very quickly.

but no disrespect to the ipad. my point is that there is a device for every purpose, and the ipad is not for car entertainment.

Still 400MHz Samsung CPU and 64MB memory... Any plans on updating?
There are some 600MHz Sirf Prima based units with 128MB available on Ebay.

Hallo from Greece...My name is Jim and I am an owner of a Pajero/Montero wagon 7-seater mod 2007. My car has the Rockford multimedia system with DVD, GPS etc ( http://www.rockfordacousticdesign.co...ils_pajero.asp ). The Mitsubishi dealer here in Greece demands 200E for the data update of the GPS. I believe that it's outrageous and I would like to help me if you know something (download, procedure etc). Thanks in advanced and sorry if my english is not so good. (by mistake I post it again in other topic)

Angry Mitsubishi Navigation Unit

I own a 2008 Outlander XLS with the Navigation system and have been completely turned off to Mitsubishi just because of this. I have contacted my dealer numerous times about an update and they do not carry them but can order them for $300.00. Turns out the maps in the 2008 are 2006 maps and evidently the newer upgrade is no better.
