Default Check oil level

Hi looking for some advice. The warning light has come on saying check engine oil level on my 2011 outlander gx3. I've checked with my mechanic and he tells me there is no sensor . I rang Mitsubishi main dealer and he tells me the same thing. Anyone with an ideas. ( the oil level is correct).
thanks in advance

got a pic of the symbol? have you verified the symbol with what is in your manual...there is a page in there that describes all symbols on your dash.

My '07 with 6B31 (3.0L gasoline) does not have a sensor for this.
