Diesel Automatic for Europe
Hi
I've now ordered the Outlander 2.2 diesel (PSA engine not VW) and agree that an auto box would be great - however I'd rather drive this car with a manual box than the nissan X-tail with the auto (available in UK already with lower bhp engine). The rear reversing camera, sat nav, music server, leather, rear DVD and heated seats will keep me entertained whilst changing gear! Get your wife to try a test drive, it convinced me.

I have a 2008 Outlander with the 2.2 PSA Diesel, and it is great - I find it a lot more suitable in the car than the 2.0 VW. I agree with the original poster that having the option of an auto would have been great - my wife also complained about the new car not being an automatic, but had to concede when there was no option to get it.
I really don't like automatics and luckily my wife agrees. I still haven't foud an automatic that shifts properly to my taste and besides, shifting manually is ten times more fun, especially with the torque on a turbodiesel!
