DVD in motion patch for NR261UM
Hello
If you really want to have the DVD in motion working, the version is not important. I propose you to do the same thing that worked for me:
Take the last otaku patch working (more recent)
open it with with a hex editor (http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Download/...editor-neo.exe for example).
Search the number of the version and simply change it with a greater number (for example 40.11 to 41.03, if your actual version is 41.02). You have only to change the first the first occurence.
Save it as LOADING.KWI in another folder.
Burn this LOADING.KWI with the other unchanged file contained in the patch and execute it.
You wil keep your data (gps,...) but downgrade only the MMCS version (no change for me between the last 2009 DVD and the 40.11 patch).
If you want to back up, you will have to extract files from the hard disk (not so hard finally)
Good luck

Hello all,
I have the 41.02 version and I tried editing the OTAKU patch by replacing the 4011 with the 4103 record, but I had a blank screen as a result.
Everytime I turn the ignition key off and on, comes up the message "Program version-up in progress" with a progress bar that fills up in a second. Then, the screen goes blank and nothing happens.
Do you have any idea what should I do to make it work again?
Is there any hard reset option in order to make it boot the original LOADING.KWI file?
Pls Help!!!
Many thanx in regards.

Jimmy upload Your working version of Loading.kwi somewhere, please.
Sure, I didn't found any changes between 41.02 and 40,11 too. Still looking for 50.xx EU version
Hello
The blank screen is not a good news. Here is the modified otaku patch that worked for me (http://rapidshare.com/files/38801905...4011.NODVD.ISO) . You will noticed that I changed simply the number 4011 to 4012 in this patch . For me, I upgraded my 41.02 to 41.03. You will find elsewhere my original 41.02 if you want.
If you always obtain the blank screen, you will have to copy your original LOADING.KWI files in the hard disk. To do this, you will have to extract the HDD, connect the 2.5 HDD IDE to your computer using a SATA adapter (or directly in an old notebook). No need to connect an alimentation. You will have to unlock the HDD using a dos command and a special CD-Rom. After all these completed, that's very easy to navigate in the differents folders to search the LOADING.KWI and replace it.
I don't understand why you have the blank screen with only the modification of the number version.
Good luck !

I think I found out what it went wrong.
I didn't change the version number just at the first occurrence. I replaced all 42 records of 4011 included in this file with the 4103.
Obviously, it was a mistake. The blank screen comes up all the time, even after a MMCS cold boot by disconnecting the battery cable for a few minutes.
Do you think that if I'd take it to the Mitsubishi dealer and claim that during the Map updating procedure (I have bought the new DVD Europe Navi Maps) something went wrong, are there any possibilities to help me?
If not, I will try to follow the procedure that rcostin described in the following thread (https://mitsubishiforum.com/m_208034/tm.htm) in order to unlock the HDD and copy manually the LOADING.KWI file (..may the Force and all Olympus Gods be with me, to do it succesfully).
Greetings from Greece and many thanks again.

Try to edit Loading.kwi again to 41.04 and upload MMCS but is 1% chance for success.
Best idea is to unlock HDD and replace Loading.kwi to 40.99 with DVD in Motion allowed
With maps upgrade is also upgrading Loading.kwi v. 41.02 which I found on DVD M160.
You can try to talk with peoples from service but I wish You success
You have the disk with M160 maps(Europe)?
Is it possible to upload them, or give us links to download them.
Thank you from Greece.

Ok, I better understand the blank screen. It is not possible to upgrade even with increasing the number to 41.04 with white (or black) screen because the boot is stopped before the verification of the version number. First case: your reseller is friendly and you can tell him a wrong story. But you're at risk to loose your warranty and pay the manipulation.
Second case: doing it yourself. Unlocking the HDD is not difficult as said WiValdiBB but there are 2-3 problems: first removing the protection of the HDD. Second find the good adapter IDE 2.5". Finally, you will need the boot CD rom (but you know where find it) and enter the good key.

Hi all
please excuse my laziness for not reading through over 100 pages on this topic - but i have some questions
I am in Australia and I am in the process of fitting a MMCS that has come out of a 2008 Pajero into my 2009 VRX Outlander - rockford audio equipped
I am interested in this patch, but i have no idea where to start in order to verify which version MMCS i have, and whether the dvd in motion patch would work on my system
I do know there is a patch cable available to overcome this, but that messes with the GPS system as the patch cable over-rides how the MMCS recieves data on what speed the vehicle is actually doing - in other words, it tricks the MMCS into thinking the car is doing 4 km/h or less, regardless of what speed the vehicle is actually doing
Can anyone give me some ideas on where to start looking?
Thankyou
