heater smell

Question heater smell

i got an 09 outlander and when we run the defrost mostly but the heat in general we smell a slight hint of burned plastic anyone know what it is or have a similar prob i havn't taken it to the dealer yet was hoping it would go away but not yet any ideas

I get that too sometimes. I've usually attributed it to some clunker in front of us and the car intaking some of the fumes/whatever the hell the thing is burning.

I'm taking it in to the dealer tomorrow morning due to low tranny fluid and some blistering paint on the rear passenger fender. I'll at least ask.

This happened to me today, first time I have ever smelled it. I too was running it with the front defrost on full blast.

Let us know what you find out.

he said it was normal, just like the dimples on the hood that many others have in the exact same spot.
