Checked mine recently, don't see any issues. Could it be also depending how often you've been using the hood in the past?

This is what I assume as well. If it is the case, I would like to find the "kit" before I see any dents. I have not even had the first oil change so the hood has only been opened by me a few times.

Btw mine is 07 with 25k miles and I haven't been "under the hood" that much other then 6-7 oil changes.

Finally installed one from eBay. Everything turned out perfect, even the bolt you're suggesting is ok, no need to buy a longer one.

I hope these will prevent the creases from now on.

Thanks alim for all the help

Now the problem is how long will the damper lasts? I have bad feelings about Taiwan and Chinese products.

Glad they fixed the bolt issue. Yes I too have concerns about the life of the shocks but since mine have lasted for almost a year now, I'm ok if it fails at this point. The replacement shocks are pretty reasonably priced.

But the dings haven't gotten worse since the sokie techs went on. And because the hood now opens taller than stock, the techs are happy with the increased clearance.

Did the kit come with all the hardware needed and can you add any instructions that might help? Did you need to drill any holes? Do you have any good pictures of the install?

I noticed that there are two types of kits on e-bay right now. One is $50 (I think shipping is $24)and one is $70 (with free shipping) Which kit did you use? Do you know what the main difference between the two kits?

Thanks,
Mark

Goggle "alvoturk9000" $50 us,freeshipping.2008-2009 fits no trouble.Instructions not great but will suffice.Hood bolt short so use thin washer on hood attachment point. Brackets marked left&right. Just move bracket around and you will see how it fits. Make sure you dont misplace spring end clips. Wait until both struts on before trying to lower hood.do not order kit for carbon fiber hood.Shiny rod to fender black end to hood .No pics available, sorry.

Got the shocks from alvoturk too. 2 day shipping from taiwan to philippines. From my experience I just used the supplied washers and the bolts that was used in my car, took them off and used it to put the dampers in place. fairly easy.

the price difference is with the black and carbon fiber look. I bought the carbon fiber which is only 70 bucks and I like the look of it.

Good luck

Anyone install these kits or others on a 2010? I heard back from alvoturk and apparantly these kits fit only 08 and 09's. Looking for some options before I get dents on the hood.

Thanks,
Mark
