This is my first post, so hello everyone. I've had my 07 Outtie for about 4 months and I love it. I do have a question about something, though, and that is the little light to the left and below the steering column. It is a red light that blinks all the time, and there is a button behind it. I've pushed the button but it doesn't seem to do anything. Is this the fuel cut off switch? Here's a pic of the light.

 

Whatever it is, it doesn't come with any Outlander. I would follow the wiring by taking out that little tray below the ASC button. My guess its either a throttle controller or some sort of extra alarm system.

 

I would think it's an aftermarket alarm system. The button is a way for you to change settings such as putting the alarm in valet mode or to help facilitate programming a new remote.

 

I agree about it being an alarm lite. Take your car to a alarm installer and he should be able to tell you what brand and possible get you a manual,or at least tell you how to operate it.

 

Thanks for the tip...I noticed that it started blinking after I changed the battery.
