We are still building new streets here as well

Seriously, as far as we get information here from Mitsubishi, they are doing or planning to do an update every year.
The latest update is Q3/2006 released 4th quarter 2007 including map updates up to mid/end 2006.
The nextupdate Q3/2007should be available 4th quarter 2008 and will include map updates up to mid/end 2007 and so on.
Let's hope that they will stick to their figures.

Cheers

You guys are lucky.

I found this on an Australian dealers web site:

"The satellite navigation function of the multi media system uses Version 9 map data. This map data was first released in 2000. New roads and developments after this release date will not be contained within the navigation mapping. Currently an upgrade for this system is not available. Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd. is continuing to work with it's vendor to develop a map upgrade for the multi media system. Upon successful completion of the upgrade, MMAL will contact registered owners and advise details as to how an upgrade may be obtained."
No wonder they recommend against buying it.

Yes, seems that we are lucky. There is a brand new highway on my map, which will be opened for traffic January 2008.
So far it's new enough.

exactly. i'll wait until probably 3-4 yrs to get my navi updated (one I have to pay for). If I can get the update for free i might do it, but if not, it's pretty useless because even google maps doesn't have my house on their map yet.
