Default Outlander 2016 4cyl. AWC effeciency

Hi,

I just want to know how your AWC doing in the Outlander 2016 / 2017?

I got mine, a new Outlander 2016 4cyl. ES-Premium with the AWC (not the S-AWC), in August 2015. I live in Quebec / Canada.

I spent 2 winters with it, it was Ok on the snow, but this year, with the early snow storms and radical temperature, I decided to test the AWC effeciency.

Test 1: Stopped it on the slope we take to exit the building garage and tried to get it going up from a stopping position with AWC Auto, then locked the 4, but in both cases it could not do it... The wheels were spinning and could not move up... I did not disable the stability control feature to see though, it was flickering...

Test 2:I went into a snow pile on the side of the road. The pile goes an inch or so over the bottom of the doors, and touches the belly of the Outlander. And then tried to come out of it, the AWC Auto did not manage to do the job, wheels were spinning... Then with 4 Lock the Outlander was moving a bit with more grip but did not make it out... Then thought disabling the stability control, and then with some wheel maneuvers with 4 Lock, I came out the snow pile...

So wanted to see if you got any positive or negative experience with the basic AWC system in snowy icy conditions ? I heard the S-AWC is superior

Thanks
