Default Outlander intermittent power loss

Sorry if this is covering old ground (couldn't quite find a solution in previous threads).
I have a 2010 Outlander Diamond and am experiencing intermittent power loss. Typical situation is in warmer weather (?), driving up gradients (small or large) and the car seems to stutter. I have already taken it to the garage who cannot trace any faults or replicate the problem (common theme I read!). I do need to take it back but wondered if anyone has had this and could give any advice on how to get it fixed.

Which engine does it have? If its the VW 2.0L TDi then its pretty much "working as designed." The turbo needs to be replaced every few years...
