Outlander sport 22 brakes
I have a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and recently replaced the rear brakes. After the replacement, I started hearing a screeching noise that would come and go. A mechanic friend told me the issue was that I didn’t align the caliper piston notch with the tab on the brake pad when I compressed the piston. He pushed back it into place, and the noise stopped for a day, but then came back intermittently. Now, a few weeks later, it’s a nonstop screech until the car comes to a complete stop.
My question is: why does the piston notch slip out of alignment with the brake pad tab so easily, and how do I fix it so it stays in place?

I would refer to a professional to repair your brakes. No disrespect meant, but with important safety systems a little knowledge can be a very bad thing. For your own safety and the safety of others
