now that i think of it, i never drive the speed limit. Ive programmed my mind to add 6 mph to every speed sign i see
and to me there is nothing wrong with like 6 over. a general rule of thumb is 7 ovr is not going to get you stopped of course that is not always true but remember the speedo and radars are +/- 5 mph calibration

I got pulled over one night doing about 5 over... The cop told me right out.. "Driving a car like this grabs our attention more" I thought the same thing about profiling.. Shouldnt matter what car it is.. Laws are laws.. I hate when They pick people out just b/c of what they drive.. A lot of times I know around here, even if it doesnt get thrown out, you can get some $$ knocked off the by going to court for it.. Usually you dont even need a good reason and they will knock some money off your ticket just by showing up and showing that you care..

true but all the officers I know.... and i know quite a few, they all say they are more than likly to stop a total POS car becaus they are most likley to be the ones with something on them. When there is not a whole lot going on they will go for the cars with mufflers and exhaust and most of that is due to the young ricer drivers ou there who drive a honda like is fastall the time.

I love seeing people in expensive cadi's pulled over.. They are the ones that can afford it and should support the poor

I would check your state laws, but the only way I know of to beat the ticket would be to fight it, and if the officer doesn't show up it gets thrown out. You could try the "flow of traffic" thing but that can backfire if the judge thinks you're wasting his/her time. Good luck

that is also different in states because here the first time you go to fight the ticket they have one officer that sits in all the hearings on "behalf" of the town. Its not the officer that pulled you over, and the city official gives you the hearing. If you still end up not liking this ruling, then you can appeal that. Its at the second one that the officer must show up at.

i appealed a ticket once. (rolling through a stop sign) let me ask you something before i tell you this. who in the hell runs a stop sign when there's a cop sitting RIGHT INFRONT OF YOU? now that that's out of the way, i came to a 4 way stop interstection. STOPPPED and continued through, he pulled me saying i ddin't come to a complete stop. o told him i did in a nice curdious way (always gotta kiss the pigs asses) he gave me a ticket for wreckless driving. i went and appealed it, didn't get it dropped but did get it deducted to careless operation which is only 125 bucks and no points. so it's worth it to go to court. i've never heard of anybody goiing to court and paying the full amount.

I'm not gonna kid you guys, I've probably had more tickets than most of you ever dreamed of and had to leave the state or loose my license with one more moving violation, and I deserved 100 for every 1 that I got, when I was younger, but I also was profiled when I was young because I drove a fast looking car. My dad had a saying 'you can go as fast as you can afford' and he is right, but on the same token I had a car run a light with a policeman behind me at the same time and I was followed out of town and got a ticket right at the edge when I finally did something wrong, and I use to get police escort through some other towns, even if I was driving exactly the speed limit. I understand if you are over it is that person's responsability, really, but I do not like the profiling that goes on that promotes your ticket while people in other vehicles get away with worse crimes at the same time. I would rather have them catch a crook than ticket someone that is going with the flow of traffic that may not match the posted speed limit. To me there should be priorities, get the bad guys first, then worry about things that are not life and death later, the only thing this 137.00 ticket for 11 over does is fill their coffers with cash, it really has not promoted safety if that is the standard speed at that area. What the law in our area is you have two choices if you agree that you were going the speed they clocked, pay the fine in full and have the ticket off your record in 6 months or have it stay on your record and get the ticket reduced, you cannot have both.
