There is NO difference from a turbo to an N/A block. If you're building up for a turbo the block will be the same either way. The difference will be the internals, the ECU, and the supporting systems. And if I'm not mistaken, the internals (Pistons/rods, cams, crank, and I think even the valves) were the EXACT SAME for both engines (Actually I think the valves might have been different butt he rest the same). So save the $ and get your block pulled and honed and just rebuild it.

and i agree with mike about the pistons. He is correct the compression of the pistons is WAY different. I think the 1g;s are around 7.8:1 while the NT is around 9.0:1
and also woody is right that the 1g's have the oil squirters under the pistons

Interesting then I was misinformed about all that oh so long ago. If someone has a pic of what N/A pistons look like I have a set of turbo pistons here. Could compare. BTW they're for sale LOL (Got them a while ago never actually did anything with 'em and I have a G54B now not a 4G63).
