i know it involves alot of building up i was planin on pickin up a turboed block i dont know yet
There is NO difference from a turbo to an N/A block. If you're building up for a turbo the block will be the same either way. The difference will be the internals, the ECU, and the supporting systems. And if I'm not mistaken, the internals (Pistons/rods, cams, crank, and I think even the valves) were the EXACT SAME for both engines (Actually I think the valves might have been different butt he rest the same). So save the $ and get your block pulled and honed and just rebuild it.
the pistons have got to be different the rods maybe not but NA needs higher compression than FI I would guess the NA pistons are far from the same

and i agree with mike about the pistons. He is correct the compression of the pistons is WAY different. I think the 1g;s are around 7.8:1 while the NT is around 9.0:1

and also woody is right that the 1g's have the oil squirters under the pistons

Interesting then I was misinformed about all that oh so long ago. If someone has a pic of what N/A pistons look like I have a set of turbo pistons here. Could compare. BTW they're for sale LOL (Got them a while ago never actually did anything with 'em and I have a G54B now not a 4G63).

It is pretty easy to think that the pistons would be different between NA and FI since FI always uses low compression and NA uses higher compression
