Clutch acting funny when it's cold
Can anyone hazard a guess as to why it primarily has this problem in cold weather? Also, I am constantly having to refill the fluid reservoir though as of yet I have not been able to find a leak.
Have you looked on the clutch pedal for leaks? If you can and if you haven't already, run fingers up or down the clutch line to check for leaks. Have you pulled back the slave boot for leaks? Have you checked under the master by the firewall or even just underneath the master?
If the slave was changed but not the master, I hazard to guess that the master is kaput too and probably should have been changed along with the slave (most folks will say to change them at the same time because if one goes bad, you have a 50/50 chance that the other is bad too). My guess is that the valves/piston(s) stick from the cold weather.

ok, I changed the master cylinder but it still seems like the clutch is not building up any pressure. I had someone help me try to bleed it for a minute but he said the clutch pedal was still dropping straight to the floor. I opened the bleed valve and pushed in the piston on the slave clinder by hand which pushed some air/fluid out of the valve and sucked some down from the reservoir but this still had no effect on the clutch. Does anyone have any suggestions? If nothing else I'm going to take it to my brother's house where I can use more tools and what not.
Yeah, take it to your brother's house. If you get air out of it and it's still doing it then chances are that there is still air in the system. That or there's a leak where air is getting in. It's also normal for the fluid to go down while you're bleeding it. It's a good idea to have a few bottles nearby when you bleed the clutch.
yeah I figured as much. It sucks living in an apartment with no room for my toolbox and no garage or anything. Oh well, I'll post tomorrow and let everyone know how things turned out.
