It doesn't matter as long as it's the same diameter.

So I just put in a piece of radiator hose to fill the gap with some clamps and such to secure it, but I was looking it up online and saw something about it damaging the intake?

U need to install the stock intake pipe & put the stock BOV back 1st of all, that's the reason why ur car is stalling the ECM is calculating measured air the isn't there cuz its being released in to atmosphere. Plus it could cause a accident or kill someone(no power steering no power brakes) Or u could put a Tube/hose With some hose clamps between that aftermarket BOV and aftermarket intake pipe and problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regardless if it doesn't sound kool NO MORE!!!!

Those switches mounted on the fire wall are the EVAP Canister & EGR valve Solenoids very important for emissions + expensive and will shoot a CEL right way if vacuum hoses are not secured/ installed properly. Because emissions system is very important very by state I hate cali emissions on the hood there is a vacuum diagram of the EVAP, EGR, + a few more Solenoids use the diagram to guide u.

Goodluck

The stock BOV is a piece of ****, as long as you can recirculate it, it doesn't matter.
