Default new car batter, still wont start

Hello everyone,

I've spent the last few hours going through forums but I have not found anyone with a similar problem as me. I have a 96 gs automatic and the car will not start. It appeared that the battery was dead i.e. lights won't turn on, horn does not work, alarm is very low. I took the battery to kragen they tested it and said the battery is fine. I used a different battery and the car started up fine so I went back to kragen and bought a brand new battery. I put the brand new battery and I still have the same problem. It looks as though once again there is no power in the battery. Any ideas will help.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I'll check those out when I get home. Will the car still start even if the alternator is not working because the battery should have enough charge to start it?

i just got home and tried other batteries, none of them work so its obviously not the battery. All fuses are fine, I checked the wires from the battery leading to the ground and everywhere else, and they all look to be ok. I'll keep you guys posted on what the prob is. Thanks!!!

the car wont turn over because it appears as though there's not enough power coming from 2 batteries that I know have power. Someone told me it sounds as if it has a bad ground so ill check those out.

hey guys, it was a bad ground. I was told to connect the neg battery to a different ground position using jumper cables, and it worked like a charm. Thanks for all the help guys!!!
