This is for a 2000 Misubishis Eclipse .I have problem that when i Park my parking shift lockgets stuck and it is not poping into place. I was jigling and pressing the brakes it wouls sometimes pop back in. But now it is not popin back in and I cannottake the key out. does anyone know how I can fix that myself or do ihave to take it to a dealership pr mechanic. Once again the shift lock is not popin back in.

 

Times like these we resort to a rubber mallet.

Bein serious..... there really isnt much you CAN do

 

I not sure exactly what causes this. I know my mothers honda had a similiar problem but i never looked into trying to fix it. It was a honda afterall . But i usually just slammed it in and it would work.

 

take the center consol out press and release brakes and to see if the cable is operating properly if not make adjustments or replace the cable.
