Im looking at ripping out the MMCS unit in my 08 Outlander 30G, Can someone tell me if the built-in camera can be used on a different head unit? and will the AMP currently in the car be able to work with a different head unit or will i need to bypass this and put a different amp in?

 

I do not know for sure but usually the cameras can be adapted with some splicing to work with many systems. Most people change the amp or just leave it there not hooked up as the factory one usually uses odd wiring and inputs making an aftermarket amp a better choice.

 

Stock camera is powered by special 6V output from MMCS, you will need to find a replacement power source if MMCS is removed.
