Default Timing belt replacement

Hi Folks, I have a 2010 Outlander GT V6... 169000 km/105000 miles mileage... Can I replace the belt only...or do I have to replace water pump and tensioners too..!? I'm on a tight budget but I want the job to be done right without wasting money in unnecessary components. Thanks in advance for your valuable advise! BTW.. I'm here at Canada... Pretty expensive labor and parts!

I suggest belt and tensioners. Most water pumps can go over 200K miles.

My wife and I own a 2010 V6 with about 120,000 km. It's nice to know someone got 169,000 km on the original belt, water pump, etc. Mitsubishi claims the belt should last over 169,000 and your experience proves that.

If I were you, which I will be in about 6 or 7 years, and your vehicle is relatively rust free, I'd replace just about everything including plugs. Relatively inexpensive to get another 169,000 out of your vehicle.

I've had my oem belt go 105k miles and a Goodyear (now continental) go 115k miles. First time I only did belts. 2nd time I did belts, tensioner, pulleys, and water pump. Pump was perfect and no replacement was needed. Hitachi is oem and is 80 bucks from rock auto. Tensioner should have been changed the first time...was shot by 220k. Pulleys, I changed what I could...bolts were getting pretty frozen in place.

I had my first timing belt change done at the Mitsubishi dealer, and they did not advise (to my surprise) changing the water pump. They did the belt and tensioner, which had a small fluid leak. I had the spark plugs replaced at the same time since the service interval is the same and the back ones on the V6 are very hard to get to.
