Default 89 Montero engine options

So the super nice 89 I acquired appears to need either a motor change or rebuild, what is my best option. 200k on engine that over heated and blew head gasket but as I dig into it for diagnoses it appears to have a bearing noise typical of hot engine. Do I rebuild or find replacement, is there a replacement out there, what years will interchange, or do I tear down and rebuild. Too nice a truck to scrap would really like to get back on road. it is the 3.0l v6. Any advise will help Thanks

replace with a 4m series =D
the 4d55/6 and 4g series engines should bolt in, as well as the early 6g (v6) obviously.
4x4 needs 'wide block' engines, rwd are narrow block.

or rebuild with new heads and SKIM THE BLOCKS. Big end bearings arent a problem but if its damaged the crank or journals youre in for $$.
